Contextual Terms of Service
1. Agreement to Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Contextual's research platform ("Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you disagree with any part of these Terms, you should not use the Service.
2. Service Description
Contextual is researching methods to integrate relevant content into large language model (LLM) conversations. We are in the research and development phase, collecting data to understand how contextually relevant content can be inserted into conversational AI while maintaining a good user experience.
3. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using any part of our Service, you represent that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms. In such cases, "you" and "your" will refer to both you and that organization.
4. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this eligibility requirement. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent and warrant that the organization is a legally established entity in good standing under the laws of the jurisdiction in which it is organized.
5. User Accounts
5.1 Registration
To access certain features of the Service, you may be required to register for an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration process and to update such information to keep it accurate, current, and complete.
5.2 Account Security
You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to or use of your account. We cannot and will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to comply with this section.
6. Research Platform Participation
6.1 Research Data
By participating in our research platform, you agree that we may collect data regarding your interactions with the Service for research and development purposes, as further described in our Privacy Policy.
6.2 Future Integration
We may develop integration tools, SDKs, or APIs in the future. When available, separate terms may apply to the use of such tools.
6.3 Restrictions
You may not:
Use the Service in a way that violates applicable laws or regulations
Attempt to reverse engineer or compromise the Service

Use the Service to harm, threaten, or harass any person or to impersonate any person or entity
7. Research Content
7.1 Simulated Ad Content
The Service currently uses simulated or mock advertisements for research purposes. No real commercial advertisements are being served. You understand that simulated content may be displayed within LLM conversations when participating in our research.
7.2 Content Quality
We strive to ensure that all simulated content is relevant, appropriate, and designed to test user experience enhancement rather than disruption. However, we do not guarantee the quality, accuracy, or appropriateness of any specific content. You acknowledge that we are not responsible for the content of simulated advertisements.
7.3 Format Testing
Our research explores various content formats including but not limited to: inline mention (labeled), native insert (separated block), conversational follow-up, sponsored follow-up question, visual CTA card, context agent handoff, and other formats as described in our documentation. These formats are being tested for future potential commercial applications.
8. Future Commercialization
8.1 Research Phase
You understand that the Service is currently in a research phase and does not include any monetization components or revenue sharing. There are no payments associated with your participation in this research.
8.2 Future Commercial Models
We may develop monetization models in the future. If and when we launch commercial features, separate terms will apply, and your continued use of such features will be subject to your agreement to those terms.
9. Intellectual Property Rights
9.1 Contextual Property
All rights, title, and interest in and to the Service, including all intellectual property rights, are and will remain the exclusive property of Contextual and its licensors. Nothing in these Terms grants you a right to use any of our trademarks, logos, domain names, or other distinctive brand features.
9.2 Feedback
If you provide feedback, ideas, suggestions, or recommendations to us regarding the Service ("Feedback"), you grant us a nonexclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, transferable, worldwide license to use, reproduce, modify, publish, distribute, create derivative works from, and display such Feedback for any purpose without compensation to you.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMISSIBLE UNDER APPLICABLE LAW, CONTEXTUAL DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE, THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED, OR THAT THE SERVICE OR THE SERVERS THAT MAKE IT AVAILABLE ARE FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
16. Limitation of Liability
IN NO EVENT SHALL CONTEXTUAL, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS, BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM (I) YOUR ACCESS TO OR USE OF OR INABILITY TO ACCESS OR USE THE SERVICE; (II) ANY CONDUCT OR CONTENT OF ANY THIRD PARTY ON THE SERVICE; (III) ANY CONTENT OBTAINED FROM THE SERVICE; AND (IV) UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS, USE, OR ALTERATION OF YOUR TRANSMISSIONS OR CONTENT, WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, WHETHER OR NOT WE HAVE BEEN INFORMED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGE. IN NO EVENT WILL OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU OR ANY THIRD PARTY EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTH PERIOD PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE LIABILITY OR (B) $100.
